Ray K.: “Upon entering and being greeted by the woman at the desk, I was surprised to learn she was a volunteer cancer survivor and not a “professional” employee. All who have greeted me from CHH through my cancer journeys have always been professional and helpful, filling my current needs available at the Cancer House of Hope. Although my yoga group members are mostly women, I have always felt welcome as a male member of Yoga Master Patricia [Niti] Martin's group. I always feel refreshed and 'limber' after each yoga lesson. I recommend this yoga class to all gender cancer survivors as a means for a mental break, as well as a good fitness workout, which has an easy flow to the movements. The close comradeship and sharing our journeys with other cancer survivors are an emotional healing blessing for us all. We are all in this together as survivors.”
Staffed by volunteers and professionals who have personally experienced the effect of cancer in their lives, Cancer House of Hope offers an accessible, comfortable, and non-institutional setting to which people living with cancer and their families and friends can come for support. Hundreds of people find support every month at our two locations in Westfield and Springfield, where they learn coping strategies and take comfort in knowing they are not alone. No referral from a physician is necessary to use the services at Cancer House of Hope.
Support Groups include:
• All Cancers
• Cancer Conquerors
• Children & Teens
• Family and Friends
All groups are small and specific. Our programs and services are intended to offer community, serenity, and awareness. All facilitators and practitioners are licensed and many are long-term cancer survivors.
Your gifts make it possible for us to continue offering all of these services and supports free of charge.
