A project of CENTER FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT INC
Not Bread Alone is a community meal program that offers FREE homemade, hot meals and groceries to anyone in need. We are here for you.
Not Bread Alone is open for three meals a week and on Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving and Christmas in the lower level dining room of the First Congregational Church in Amherst, 165 Main St., Amherst. All are welcome!
We must look to the community at large to keep our pantry full and our table set. Please don’t let your neighbors go hungry—make a gift today to help people get the food they need to thrive.
Marcy and her children have been attending Not Bread Alone regularly for a few years. They are a wonderful family and have recently been volunteering in the kitchen, which has been very exciting!
“When I think of Not Bread Alone I think of family and friends. I can volunteer and help as a team and when things get hard, it’s a place to escape to with my kids. It’s fun, I get free groceries, and I enjoy just being around other people to talk to.”
Julian has been coming to Not Bread Alone as a guest for some time. His cheerful demeanor is contagious and is always a pleasure to spend time with.
“Este sitio es muy especial a mí porque nos dan bien ayuda aquí; hay este tipo de amistad. Podemos ayudar las personas con la espiritual y dar buena consejería” (This place is very important to me because we receive help; there’s a feeling of friendship. Through spirituality we can help others and give them advice.)
