We bring the community together to change, improve and save Jewish lives in Western Massachusetts, Israel and 70 countries around the world.
Through the Annual Campaign, the Jewish Federation of Western Massachusetts funds and supports a community-wide network of organizations that do two things: 1) care for people in need here at home, in Israel and around the world; and 2) nurture and sustain the Jewish community for future generations.
From feeding the hungry to helping the unemployed, from supporting families with special needs to funding Jewish education, the Federation is focused on addressing the most pressing issues facing our community every day. Through our community-wide network of partners and agencies, we actively seek out and support innovative solutions in order to feed, clothe, comfort and rescue people in need, and inspire, educate and connect people to their Jewish identity.
With each gift, we address so many of the causes and issues that are important to our community. Even during these difficult economic times, when our highest priority is helping people in financial crisis get back on their feet, the Federation continues to ensure that the programs and institutions that enrich Jewish life remain vibrant and strong.
During natural disasters and times of crisis, Federation responds. The Federation has a long track record of carrying out bold initiaties and mobilizing great resources during times of crisis. We helped airlift thousands of Ethiopian Jews to safety in Israel. We helped rescue and resettle more than one million Russian and Eastern European Jews in Israel and North America. We provided lifesaving humanitarian relief during the recent natural disasters in Haiti and Japan.
The impact of the Jewish Federation is extraordinary. In Western Massachusetts, we provide financial assistance and counseling. We deliver meals to homebound seniors. We help fund and sustain our JCC, day schools and synagogue Hebrew schools, and much more.
