Rebuilding Together is the nation's leading nonprofit working to preserve affordable homeownership and revitalize communities.

The Springfield, MA affiliate of Rebuilding Together has been in existence since 1992. We perform critical repairs, modifications and rehabilitation to the homes and nonprofit facilities of low-income Americans that consist of families with children, the elderly, military veterans and the disabled.

We believe in a "Safe & Healthy Home for Everyone"!

In the past year we have completed 71 homes in the city of Springfield. A total of 37 of the 71 homes were damaged by last year's devastating tornadoes where homeowners did not have insurance, inadequate insurance or where building contractors did not complete the work.

Scope of work included: new roofs, installation of new energy-efficient windows & doors, insulation, masonry repairs, interior and exterior painting, sheetrock repair, handrailings, deadbolt locks, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, proper ventiliation, planting of shrubs and flowers, yard cleanup, tree & stump removal.

In addition we completed improvements to four nonprofit facilities: The North End Learning & Literacy Center for WGBY 57, JC Williams Community Center, Community Music School and the Old Hill Neighborhood Council.

Over the past 20 years we completed improvements to the Ronald McDonald House at Baystate Hospital, playground improvements at Square One & the New North Citizens Council, Transitional Home for 12 Homeless Veterans, South End Community Ceenter and a Veterans Outreach Center.

Since our inception we have completed thousands of homes for families in all 17 neighborhoods in Springfield, MA with 10,000 volunteers investing almost $5 Million into the community!

There is still much to do...we need your help to provide safety, security, and independence for low-income families, while preserving homeownership and reducing the risk of homelessness.
