The Shea Community Theater is a center for entertainment, art and education serving the communities of Franklin and Hampshire County.

Our Primary focus is to entertain, inspire, inform and enrich the lives of our audience by presenting high quality programs in the visual and performing arts and to collaborate with local artisans and organizations to help revitalize the community.

The Shea Theater hosts a variety of quality attractions designed to appeal to a wide range of tastes. As Franklin County’s premiere venue, The Shea has co-producing arrangements with several of the region’s top theatrical organizations. Productions include drama, musical theater, comedy, political satire and experimental plays. The Shea’s line-up also includes musical offerings of pop, rock, folk, jazz, country and classical. In addition, The Shea presents several in-house arts and educational programs for children and families each year. These programs include curriculum based educational events open to local schools at affordable prices, acting classes, and summer camp workshops.

The Shea Community Theater, its resident companies, patrons and friends work together to sustain the theater and present the many fine programs it makes available to the residents of Western Massachusetts.

We would especially like to thank our four primary theater companies, Arena Civic Theater, New Renaissance Players, The Country Players and Welcome Yule, for their exceptional level of commitment to the theater.

We would also like to thank our major contributors, including Greenfield Savings Bank, The Home Depot, Electronic Theater Control, Loot, WMECo, Bales Energy Associates, The Town of Montague and all of our volunteers and donors, who's continued support will allow for us to better serve the cultural needs of the community. Through your efforts we have been able to raise over $30,000 for capital improvements in the past year. Thank you all!

*All donations will go to facility improvements and projects that benefit the entire Shea community.
