TJO Foundation helps our community's most vulnerable animals--those who are injured, abandoned and mistreated--heal and find loving homes. We help hundreds of local dogs, cats and other small animals by funding lifesaving medical treatments and veterinary care while they are in shelter at Thomas J. O'Connor Animal Control and Adoption Center. We provide behavior and "good citizen" training for dogs to increase their chances for adoption. TJO Foundation also provides enrichment supplies and activities to make life in shelter less stressful.

TJO Foundation is unique in helping animals from Springfield, Holyoke and Chicopee that have been rescued by Thomas J. O'Connor Animal Control officers. Our doors are open to even the toughest cases, including those who have suffered deprivation and abuse. We have helped animals recovered from hoarding situations as well as those abandoned to the streets. We believe all animals who come through our doors deserve a better life, and support public awareness and education that brings attention to the humane treament of our local animals and their healing and placement into loving homes.
