THESE ARE A FEW OF THE ANIMALS THAT THE FOUNDATION HAS HELPED. HELP US SAVE MORE!!

The Foundation for TJO Animals provides life-saving medical care and training to local animals at TJO Animal Control and Adoption Center.

Dogs and cats, rabbits and ferrets, guinea pigs and hamsters, turtles and fish and snakes, and lots and lots of birds from chickens to parrots to sparrows and even the occasional turkey!

These are the animals that we are here to help! The Foundation for TJO Animals was founded to fill the gap between the City of Springfield funding and the day to day reality of caring for the animals. When animals need extra care the Foundation pays for medical treatments and rehabilitation that would otherwise not be available.

Many of the over 4,000 animals that come through the doors of TJO have suffered injuries, neglect, or have a serious health problem. By providing funds for specialty and general surgery, medical equipment as well as top notch veterinary care many, many animals have been saved. When these animals are nursed back to health, they are put up for adoption into their forever homes.

While the City of Springfield provides two days for the shelter veterinarian the Foundation pays for an additional two days. These extra two days mean that more animals can get immediate care for diseases and injuries when they arrive and saves them from being in distress or pain. In some circumstances, it can mean the difference between life and death.

The Foundation also funds a trainer to provide both enrichment and training for dogs to make their stay in the shelter easier and to teach them good manners! The dogs are also evaluated for personality which helps to ensure a good match for the adopter.

Help support the Foundation in its goal of raising $20,000 and make 2015 a year to help more animals get into loving and safe homes!
