Turning print into sound. VRRS reads local news daily for proeople with sight loss and print impairments in the Pioneer Valley.

For almost 30 years, Valley Radio has been reading local newspapers and information to the blind and print impaired over a special radio receiver system. Many of our listeners are elderly and unable to read the local news in print form. Our daily listeners have told us how essential our service is to their lives in staying up with current local information. We read material that cannot be heard anywhere else. VRRS' plan is to upgrade our technology so that our listeners are not prohibited by their geographic location and can listen to us even when they are not in the local area. Our goal is to be bale to live stream on the internet to the world.
