CDSS spreads joy and builds community through traditional dance, music and song!
Just $3,500 to raise this year!! Help us reach our final goal!
With your past help, we are now working to introduce participatory dance into an afterschool music program, and have found school partners to test and create tool-kits to add dance to teachers' repertoire.
You have helped us raise $19, 733.29 these past two years to do this life-changing work! This year, we need to raise just $3,500 for our lesson plan development and pilot program work. If we surpass this goal, we will put the money towards reaching and working with even more teachers, kids, and communities.
Participating in dance, music and song “teaches children life skills such as developing an informed perception; articulating a vision; learning to solve problems and make decisions; building self-confidence and self-discipline; developing the ability to imagine what might be; and accepting responsibility to complete tasks from start to finish.” (Americans for the Arts, 2002)
Creativity, confidence, problem-solving, and collaboration for kids in public schools -- that's what YOU are helping us accomplish!!
ALL donations for Valley Gives Day 2014 receive a 10% discount code for the CDSS Store (good until Dec. 12) and are entered into a drawing for a pair of tickets to the Sweetback Sister's holiday concert at the Academy of Music in Northampton, MA on Dec. 23 at 7 p.m.
Donors giving a $100 or more will be entered into a very special drawing for a pair of tickets to the Nowell Sing We Clear concert on December 15 at the Latchis Theater, Brattleboro, VT at 7:30 p.m.
